The Award focuses on innovation in the water and energy sector; this can be a product, project, or service that has made a difference. Black and Veatch, that sponsors the award, hosted Matt Simpson from WWT Consulting and Sally Mackenzie from WWT at the award ceremony at the Drapers Guildhall in London. The project has designed and built wetland treatment systems to treat waste water from the Lao PDR capital city, Vientiane and manage wetland resources surrounding the city for multiple benefits such as food production, flood control and water treatment. It is a partnership project with WWF and local government agencies in Vientiane.
