Marie Orchard and Rebecca Woodward have been working in Ireland to further develop the Lee Valley Wetland Park, phase one of which is due to open in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, later this summer.
Phase one of the park will include a water activity lake and amenity park and phase two will include a visitor centre and wetland wildlife area with viewing hides. It is this phase that we are currently working on for Tralee Town Council.
The site is on the River Lee estuary, adjacent to Tralee Bay, and is an important wildlife site. Around 2,000 Brent Geese winter there after migrating from the high Arctic. The visitor centre will include an audiovisual presentation and exhibits to introduce visitors to the local wildlife and wetland conservation issues.
The interpretation is being designed between now and August and the exhibits will be installed by the end of 2011.
