6 years ... 148 flights ... 555 hours of surveying ... 70,500km of survey transects ... 355,333 records
These are the stats for Anne's aerial survey career with us. Sadly for us, she is moving over to WWT's Conservation Programmes Directorate to research the rare Red-breasted Goose, but she leaves with happy memories of working with the aerial survey team. The team have been surveying from small aeroplanes to inform UK offshore windfarm development and have also taken on the task of analysing high definition video footage for the same aim.
During Anne's aerial survey career, she was also lucky to undertake six of her flights in Norway over the beautiful frozen fjords.
Highlights from the estimated 355,333 records of seabirds, mammals and fish that Anne has seen, were White-tailed Eagles, Long-tailed Ducks and Minke Whales.
